First of all hello everyone! I have created this blog primarily to review all 92 Football League clubs in England but I may diversify in the future. My views on Portsmouth and Sunderland may not be balanced. As you might have guessed from my last point I support Southampton and Newcastle United. Yes that is two teams and I'll now explain why I support two teams at opposite ends of the country. Firstly, Newcastle, I idolised Alan Shearer as a young boy and from that I (Mum) bought a Newcastle jumper at jumble sale, I know a jumble sale! How could someone do that? Maybe because only recently 'The Toon' had thrown away a 12 point lead under the guidance of Kevin Keegan in 1996. Subsequently, I decided to keep faith and support the Toon, following every result eagerly ever since (especially the 5-1 demolition of 'The Mackems' (Sunderland)).
The way I started supporting Southampton is far more logical than that of Newcastle. I was simply born and bred in Southampton. However, I was not a Southampton fan from birth. I only started supporting them when I wanted to go to football regularly. Unfortunately, this was when The Saints (Southampton) were relegated from the Premier League. After watching two seasons of championship football, I realised at the age of roughly 16 that I was now an avid supporter of my hometown club, Southampton FC. Since then, I have attended many away games and I was the proud owner of a season ticket at St.Marys for the 09/10 season.
