Barnet

Background

The spotlight has been on Barnet more than usual this season. Edgar Davids' arrival has drawn attention from the media, lets be honest nobody saw it coming. I'd like to know how Davids has got on at Barnet, has he still got it? Or has he lost it.

League Form

This season has not been easy for Barnet. The Bee's were at the very bottom of the league for ten consecutive weeks. This must have been a difficult period for everyone associated with the club.

However, not long after the departure  of Mark Robson, Barnet's form started to pic up. The month of February saw The Bee's lose only 1 of their 5 games during the month. A mini-revival for the club since David's was handed full responsibility of the team. Recently, Barnet were as high as 18th which suggested survival was more likely than relegation for The Bee's. Although, with 5 games to go Barnet are 21st and only 4 points clear from the drop zone, it could really go either way.

Transfer Market

There has been plenty of transfer activity at Underhill this season. Notable incomings and outgoings are listed below.

Notable Incomings

Craig Beattie           Unattached                     Free
Edgar Davids          Unattached                     Free
Collins John            Mes Sarcheshmeh           Free
Graham Stack         Hibernian                        Free
Curtis Weston         Gillingham                      Free
Jon Nurse               Dagenham & Redbridge  Free
Jake Hyde               Dundee                           Free

Notable Outgoings

Izale McLeod          Portsmouth                     Free
Dean Brill               Luton Town                   Free
Danny Senda          Released                         Free

Edgar Davids is obviously a signing that stands out. However, I think the best deal for Barnet was signing Jake Hyde on a free from Dundee, 11 league goals this season making him a real bargain. Another good signing is Jon Nurse from Dagenham, a good player who'll get you a couple of goals and not bad seen as he was also free.

Not too many significant departures for The Bee's, Izale McLeod is quite a good player so Barnet fans might have been disappointed by his departure.

Barnet Fact-file

Founded: 1888
Ground: Underhill
Capacity: 6,023 (2,303 seated)
Chairman: Anthony Kleanthous
Head Coach: Edgar Davids
Nickname: The Bee's
Rivals: Watford

Honours: Conference Title, 2 titles: 1990-91, 2004-05.

Outlook

The outlook for Barnet currently is not too great. However, I believe they will stay up, I think Aldershot and York are going to down and consequently the Bee's will survive. They need to do some major rebuilding next season if they are to be safe next year. Edgar Davids leading the ship will only help Barnet attract new players. Developing players and bringing young english talent through the ranks might be a good strategy in the long term, combine that with some experienced signings and Barnet could do a lot better than pure survival. I'd like to see Barnet escape from their perennial league two relegation battles.

Aston Villa

Background

Aston Villa FC are one of the oldest and most successful clubs in England. The club was very successful at the end of the nineteenth century winning 5 first division titles within a seven ear period.

League Form

As you can see from the graph of Villa's league form (Source: BBC Sport), this season has not been one to remember for the fans so far. A season high of 13th and several dips into the relegation zone is the never good for a supporters heart rate. You could argue that a key reason for this poor form is Villa's lack of experience. Aston Villa's team this season is incredibly young, an average age of 23 supports this notion of inexperience among the team. I personally do not understand why Lambert did not sign some experienced players in the January transfer window, maybe he didn't out of pride or belief in his own philosophy. The last two games for Villa were very important ones, they were up against two fellow relegation strugglers and they beat them. I simply cannot see Villa going down, I feel they are stronger than those around them and they will survive.

Transfer Market

This season saw the arrival of many youngsters at Villa Park and the departure of a few older heads. Although, I am sure many Villa fans are happy to see the back of the one and only Emile Heskey.

Notable Incomings

Christian Benteke      Genk                           £7,744,000
Ashley Westwood     Crewe Alexandra       £2,200,000
Jordan Bowery          Chesterfield                 £554,400
Joe Bennett                Middlesborough         £2,722,000
Ron Vlaar                  Feyenoord                  £3,344,000
Matthew Lowton       Sheffield United         £3.300,000
Karim El Ahmadi      Feyenoord                  £2,464,000

Notable Outgoings

Stephen Warnock     Leeds United              Free
James Collins          West Ham United         £2,816,000
Carlos Cuellar         Sunderland                   Free
Emile Heskey           Released                     Free

Firstly, Lets talk about Christian Benteke (pictured), Benteke has set the Premier League alight since joining from Genk, he is Villa's top scorer with thirteen league goals. Benteke's strength is a key asset to his again, he can shrug anyone off the ball and is excellent in the air. Aston Villa need to survive relegation to keep him at Villa Park, Benteke is a very talented young footballer and I'm sure he'll be linked with europe's finest in the summer.

I hear from a friend of mine who's a villa fan (@Chloe_Villa) that Joe Bennett has not looked a good signing since his arrival from Middlesborough, would be interesting to hear if fellow Villains agree?

There appeared to be no major outgoings for Villa this season. I always thought James Collins looked a solid centre back so maybe Villa fans were disappointed to see him leave for West Ham.

Key Players

The first key player I have chosen for Villa is Brad Guzan (left) at times has saved games on his own for Villa this season. For example, his performance against QPR at Villa Park was nothing short of sensational. Guzan signed for just over half a million from MLS club Chivas he looks a bargain.

Andreas Weimann (right) is another key player for Villa, he has notched up 11 goals for them this season. Aston Villa signed him from Rapid Wien as a 16 year old hot prospect for the future. Weimann has already proven what a good investment that was. Still only 21 years old, Andreas has the world at his feet and is becoming part of Villa's young core team. Weimann seems to like the big occasion, scoring when it matters in big games. I can see Weimann going far at Villa if he continues to develop at his current rate.

The final key player I have chosen is Christian Benteke, now I will not bang on about him again as I don't want to bore you, but I also do not want you to think that I haven't included him as one of my top three key players for the Villa.

Aston Villa Fact-file

Founded: 1874
Ground: Villa Park
Capacity: 42,778
Chairman: Randy Lerner
Manager: Paul Lambert
Nickname: Villa, The Villains
Rivals: Birmingham City

Honours:
  • European Cup, 1 cup: 1981-82.
  • European Super Cup, 1 cup: 1982.
  • Intertoto Cup, 1 cup: 2001
  • First Division Champions, 7 titles: 1893-94, 1895-96, 1896-97, 1898-99, 1899-1900, 1909-10, 1980-81
  • FA Cup, 7 cups: 1887, 1895, 1897, 1905, 1913, 1920, 1957.
  • League Cup, 5 cups: 1961, 1975, 1977, 1994, 1996.
  • FA Charity Shield, 1 shield: 1981 (shared)
An impressive haul by Villa over the years one I'm sure 'blue noses' are jealous of. Aston Villa have won the League and FA cup 7 times each which is sensational, add to that a European cup too. Birmingham City can only dream of the illustrious history that Villa possess.

Outlook

Personally, I think Villa will still be a Premier League club next season, they have enough about them to stay up. After winning their last two games Villa seem to be gathering a bit of momentum which could well carry them through to next season. I think many Football fans would agree with me that Aston Villa being in the Championship would just be weird, I can't imagine it. Although, the same happened to Newcastle in recent years at the hands of Villa, that relegation if anything helped 'The Toon' but I think relegation for Villa would be a disaster.

Is Paul Lambert the right man for Villa? I'd like to hear from Villa fans on this subject. As of yet I see no reason as to why he is the right man for the job, if he manages to keep Villa up I do think he deserves a chance to rebuild Villa and show what he can do next season. However, if Aston Villa were to be relegated he simply has to go, a new man with fresh ideas would have to be brought in. I hope Villa do stay up though, and I think they will do. Good Luck next season Villa wherever you may be.

Arsenal

Background

Arsenal F.C. are a Football Club known throughout the world. Who can forget 'The Invincibles' of the 2003-04 season? Their record was outstanding, 26 wins, 12 draws and no losses. The unbeaten run continued into the following season, eventually ending after 49 games at the hands of Manchester United.

However, those days appear to be long gone, it has been eight years since Arsenal last won a trophy. 'Gooners' are hungry for silverware, but do they want to part ways with a manager, that brought them so much success a long time ago?

League Form

As you can see from the graph (Source: BBC Sport), Arsenal have had a very inconsistent season in terms of league position, that is until recently where they have spent most of 2013 in 5th or 6th place. Midway through September Arsenal were in 3rd place (a season high), that form did not last and around Christmas time they were as low as 10th. 'The Gunner's' recent form has not been too bad with only one loss in their last seven games and that was at the hands of fierce rivals Tottenham. Champions league qualification is well within Arsenal's reach, it would be hard for the fans to take if they missed out on a place through Spurs finishing above them. You could argue that the North London pendulum would swing spurs way were that to happen.

Transfer Market

This season has been a very dramatic one for Arsenal regarding the transfer market. The sale of star striker Robin Van Persie to Manchester United understandably upsetting the fans. Although there were some decent incomings too. A brief summary of important ins and outs is listed below.

Notable Incomings

Nacho Monreal       Malaga            £8,800,000
Santi    Cazorla       Malaga            £16,720,000
Lukas Podolski       Cologne          £10,560,000
Olivier Giroud        Montpellier     £10,560,000

Notable Outgoing

Marouane Chamakh   West Ham              Loan
Nicklas Bendtner        Juventus                Undisclosed
Henri Lansbury       Nottingham Forest    £1,100,000
Alex Song               Barcelona                 £16,720,000
Robin Van Persie    Manchester United   £27,016,000
Carlos Vela            Real Sociedad            £3,344,000
Manuel Almunia      Watford                    Free

Firstly, lets talk about the incomings. The two signings from Malaga have already shown that they are quality players especially Cazorla. Cazorla's touch, technique and dribbling are excellent, he's nibble quick and has notched up 11 goals since his arrival. Olivier Giroud who I was initially unsure of,  has now proven his worth with an impressive 15 goals since leaving France. Podolski is a proven goalscorer with plenty of international experience, a good signing by Arsenal.

However, some important players did leave Arsenal, the most important departure was obviously Robin Van Persie (pictured right). Arsenal may have been able to mount a serious title challenge had they kept RVP and still managed to fund their signings. The show must go on, I believe there is life after Van Persie, just like there was after Fabregas, another player will take up the mantle and I believe that to be Jack Wilshere. Wilshere has been excellent this season, he has shown that he is a great all-round midfielder, he can tackle, pass and attack with devastating effect.

Alex Song was another significant departure for Arsenal, I personally think they got a good price for him (£16.72 mill). However, next season I do not think Arsenal can afford to lose any more key players if they want to compete for the title. A few signings similar to those of Cazorla and Monreal I reckon they'll be right up there next season.

Key Players

The first key player of Arsenal's squad is Theo Walcott. Theo has been exceptional this season and has really flourished since being played down the middle. Arsenal have reaped the rewards from playing him in his favoured position, Theo has scored 18 goals in all competitions, making him Arsenal's top goalscorer for the season. I have a softspot for Walcott as he was produced by my hometown club Southampton, I saw him set the championship alight and knew he would go far at Arsenal. Hopefully, Chamberlain can emulate Walcott, I am sure he will do as he as already proven himself as a talented young Footballer.

The second key player I have chosen is Santi Cazorla. Since his arrival from Malaga he has been excellent, providing that creative spark and flair that Arsenal need in their methodical attacking game. 11 goals this season is an impressive total considering he is a midfielder playing his first season of Premier League Football. He is the sort signing Arsenal need to repeat next season in the transfer market, a player of Cazorla's quality in defence would be a brilliant addition, I think Matt Hummels from Dortmund would be a great centre back to sign.

Lastly, I have chosen Jack Wilshere. Wilshere has shown so far this season how talented a midfielder he is, a great all-rounder and showing promise for Arsenal's and England's future alike. Bastian Schweinsteiger puts Wilshere up there with Europe's best, he said "He is dynamic, has a good left foot and a good eye" (Source: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/feb/19/jack-wilshere-europe-bayern-schweinsteiger ). At the age of 21 Wilshere is still developing his game, he has the potential to be a world class midfielder and could be instrumental in England's future.

Outlook: Wenger out?

The Wenger in, Wenger out debate is a frequent one among Arsenal fans and those interested in Premier League Football. Many were always supportive of Wenger, until the last few seasons where the wait for silverware has become too long for some. This season around December time Arsenal fans were calling for Wenger's head, they were 10th in the league and the fans could not handle another season of disappointment. Personally, I think that had Wenger not been so successful early on at Arsenal he would have been out the door a long time ago.

Arsenal could sack Wenger if the team failed to qualify for the champions league, but then where would they go? There are not many managers out there and available that are better than Arsene. The only man I can think of is Jose Mourinho, Jose is eagerly seeking a return to management in the Premier League but I can't see him in North London net season. Stability is very rare these days in the modern game and Arsenal are one of few clubs that are 'stable', sacking Wenger would disrupt this and without an excellent appointment it could be a big, big mistake. After seeing Arsenal's performance against Bayern Munich in Germany recently, I am certain Wenger is the right man to take Arsenal forward, all he needs to do is spend this alleged transfer 'Warchest' in the summer.

Investment, development and retaining key players are the three things that need to happen for Arsenal to have a successful season next year. Investing in a new centre back and maybe a new striker could make all the difference between finishing 4th and winning the league. Arsenal need to continue developing their talented young players such as Wilshere and Carl Jenkinson. Lastly, they need to retain and not sell key players. Wishere, Walcott, Cazorla and Oxlade-Chamberlain are Arsenal's most important players at present and for the future, retaining these players could lead to the success that Arsenal deeply crave.

Aldershot Town

Background

Aldershot Town are from my home county which is Hampshire. I did not know too much about the club prior to this review, so it was interesting to get an incite into the club. Aldershot Town F.C. were founded in 1992 after fourth division Aldershot became bankrupt.

League Form

As you can see from the graph (Source: BBC Sport) this season has been a season to forget so far for Aldershot. Consistently in the bottom half nearly all season. Aldershot's away has not been too bad only losing six all season, if they could have converted some of their nine away draws into wins, things could be completely different. Dean Holdsworth was sacked not too long ago after Aldershot entered the relegation zone in February. Andy Scott was soon appointed as new Aldershot Town manager. 'The Shots' only lost 1 of their first 5 games with Scott at the helm suggesting survival could be quite likely. The bottom of league two is very tight, the bottom five clubs all on 40 points.

Transfer Market

Aldershot were quite active in the transfer window this season, many arrivals and departures were loan deals or free transfers.

Notable Incomings

Alberto Seidi           Southampton         Loan
Scott Donnelly        Unattached            Free
Oliver Lancashire   Walsall                   Free
Anthony Tonkin     Oxford United       Free

Notable Outgoings

Anthony Straker     Southend United    Free
Guy Branston         Plymouth Argyle   Free
Jordan Roberts       Tamworth               Loan
Max Worsfold        Staines Town         Free

Alberto Seidi was on loan at the Recreation Ground this season for a short spell and I'd like to hear from Shot's fans on how he got on. I can see Lancashire doing well down in league to a strong young centre back still developing. No major outgoings for The Shots, I am surprised that Danny Hylton has not been snapped by a club from a higher league. Holding onto top scorer Hylton will be crucial for next seasons performance, with Hylton and a few new additions next season, Aldershot could make it into the play-offs.

Aldershot Town Fact-file

Ground: Recreation Ground
Capacity: 7,100 (2,000 seated)
Chairman: Shahid Azeem
Manager: Andy Scott
Nickname: The Shots

Honours: Conference Winners 2007-08

Outlook

The next seven games are very important for Aldershot Town Football Club. A return to Non-League Football would not be welcome for the club, they would almost certainly lose star player Danny Hylton. However, were Aldershot to survive they could rebuild for next season, perhaps emulate overachieving small family clubs like Blackpool and Dagenham & Redbridge. Aldershot are nice family club from Hampshire and I would not like to see them go down. Hopefully, with a bit of luck The Shots can survive!

AFC Wimbledon

Background

Next up is AFC Wimbledon. Many have a soft spot for the club after their financial meltdown in 2002. Likewise, many dislike Milton Keynes Dons after attempting to relocate Wimbledon 56 miles north, a decision very unpopular with all Football fans. AFC Wimbledon were created in the same year, starting life in the Combined Counties League Premier Division. Wimbledon's rise through the non-league pyramid was a quick one. Terry Brown's arrival in 2007 saw back to back promotions from the Isthmian Premier League through the Conference South and into the Conference. 2011 saw Wimbledon rightly march back into the Football league, I am sure true Football fans will agree with me that their meteoric rise through the lower leagues was a pleasing sight.

 League Form

As you can see from the graph on the left (Source: BBC Sport), the start of the season did not go well for 'The Dons', with them only winning the first game of season under Terry Brown, this inevitably lead to his dismissal. Next up to take control of the ship was former player Neil Ardley. Wimbledon's form since Neil Ardley's arrival has been fairly poor, their highest position in the league for season was 20th until recently climbing to 18th. The Don's spent most of February at the bottom of the league.

However, with only one defeat in the last eight games Wimbledon are now 18th and 5 points clear of relegation. At this time of the season momentum is key, Wimbledon have it in abundance, I foresee this good form continuing and ensuring their survival in League 2.

Transfer Market

Plenty of transfer activity this season for the dons with plenty of arrivals and departures.

Notable Incomings

Neil Sullivan            Doncaster Rovers             Loan
Alan Bennett           Cheltenham Town            Free
Kevin Sainte-Luce   Cardiff City                      Free
Chris Hussey           Coventry City                   Free
Peter Sweeney         Bury                                 Free
Will Antwi               Unattached                       Free
Pim Balkestein         Brentford                          Free
Warren Cummings  Bournemouth                    Free
Stacy Long              Stevenage                         Free

Notable Outgoings

Christian Jolley     Newport County             Undisclosed
Ricky Wellard      Cambridge United            Free
Sam Hatton          Grimsby Town                 Free
Jamie Stuart          Sutton United                   Free

Securing Neil Sullivan on Loan seemed a good signing, would like to hear from Don's fans on how he faired during his short loan spell. Hopefully he pulled off a few saves to remind you of the years in the top division. Balkestein has a lot of experience and I'd like to know how he has been getting on at Kingsmeadow. Antwi has been capped by Ghana three times and looked impressive against MK Dons in the cup.

Regarding outgoings I was suprised to see Christian Jolley leave as he was very good for me on Football Manager and Fifa alike, maybe he's not quite so special in real life? This season also saw the departure of the experienced Jamie Stuart off to Sutton United.

AFC Wimbledon Fact-file

Founded: 2002 (1889 as Wimbledon FC)
Ground: Kingsmeadow
Capacity: 4,850 (2,025 seated)
Manager: Neil Ardley
Nickname: The Dons

Honours (including Wimbledon FC):
  • FA Cup 1987-88
  • FA Amateur cup 1962-63
  • Football League Fourth Division 1982-83
I am sure you are all aware of 'The Crazy Gang', well if not The Crazy Gang was a term used to describe Wimbledon during the 1980's and 1990's. The term came about through endless prank playing by players on each other and on the manager Dave Bassett. A great team sprit was at the heart of The Crazy Gang with strong figures like Vinnie Jones at the heart of the team. Wimbledon pulled off a major cup upset in 1988 by beating Liverpool 1-0 in the FA Cup Final, Dave Beasant saving a crucial penalty to help The Crazy Gang lift the cup.

Outlook

The next 8 games for AFC Wimbledon are very important for the club, a collapse in recent form could see them return to non-league Football, a continuation of their excellent form will ensure their survival. You could argue that Wimbledon are likely to stay up in their current position, and if they were to survive then it would be important for the club to make a few signings next season to try and aim for the top half, maybe even the play-offs. I could see AFC wimbledon in League 1 within the next to seasons were they to invest a little capital. The romantic side of the game would love such a club to return to the top tiers of the game, as would I.

AFC Bournemouth

The second club we come to is AFC Bournemouth. Just down the road from my club Southampton, it'll be interesting for myself, and perhaps you to get an insight into the club. Cherries fans don't seem to be too fond of us for some reason, in League 1 the match was even labelled a 'fierce local derby', which In my opinion, is well...silly! I don't mind Bournemouth and I like to see them do well.

League Form and the 'Howe effect'.

As we can see from the graph (Source: BBC Sport), the Cherries form at the start of the season was not to savoury, only one win in the first eleven league games. Paul Groves sacking was inevitable and the return of Eddie Howe from Burnley imminent. Not long after Howe's arrival Bournemouth's fortunes started to change. A charge up League 1 from November 2012, right through to February 2013 where they reached the very top of the league.

However, recently there has been a significant decline in the Cherries form, they lost five games consecutively, which has slightly dented their aspirations for automatic promotion.

Transfer Market

Bournemouth definitely splashed the cash this season on several transfers and loan deals. A few going the opposite way in an attempt to balance the books.

Notable Incomings

Matt Richie            Swindon Town          £409,200
Ryan Fraser           Aberdeen                   £422,400
Danny Seabourne  Southampton              Loan
Brett Pitman           Bristol City                Loan
David James          Unattached                 Free
Lee Barnard           Southampton              Loan
Tommy Elphick     Brighton                    £220,000
Lewis Grabban      Rotherham United     £325,600

Notable Outgoings

Warren Cummings AFC Wimbledon     Free
Scott Malone          Milwall                    £827,200
Michael Symes      Leyton Orient           Free
Adam Barrett         Gillingham               Free

Matt Richie is the sort of signing that could earn Bournemouth an automatic promotion place. His arrival lead to the departure of Di Canio at promotion rivals Swindon, a tough loss for them, their best player gone and a talented manager following him out the door.

Interesting to see two Southampton men going on loan down the road to Dean Court. I rate Barnard, a hard worker who will chase every ball and a good goalscorer too, I especially enjoyed his debut goal against Pompey! I do not have as much praise for Seabourne, who I feel is not a quality centre back, he is certainly not good enough for the Premier League or Championship, it would be interesting to hear how he has faired down at Bournemouth.

Lewis Grabban appears to be a great signing. Grabban is the Cherries top scorer notching up 13 goals this season an impressive total, closely followed by Brett Pitman on 11.

The outgoings for the club were not too important, the departure of veteran Warren Cummings perhaps the most significant.

Bournemouth Fact-file

Founded: 1890 dissolved, reformed in 1899 as Boscombe FC
Ground: Dean Court
Capacity: 10,000
Chairman: Eddie Mitchell
Manager: Eddie Howe
Nickname: The Cherries

Honours:

  • The old third division 1986-87
  • Football League Trophy 1983-84

Outlook

The future for the Cherries is a bright one. A great young manager in charge and still in contention for promotion to the championship. The Cherries may not go up automatically but I am very confident they will at least go up in the play-offs. Good luck away at Oldham today!

Accrington Stanley

The first club I'm going to review are Accrington Stanley, now I do not know too much about the club but this is exactly what this blog is about enlightening myself and others about various football clubs. A little research will do no harm. Firstly, this season so far could not have been worse for Stanley fans as they find themselves at the foot of the table with relegation out of the Football league beckoning.

As you can see from the graph above (Source: BBC Sport) Stanley's performance at the start of the season was not that shabby with them in fourth place in both September and October. However, a sharp decline in form in October threw them down the table into the bottom half and then their league position spiralled downwards ever since. Since the departure of beloved former manager Paul Cook to Chesterfield, Stanley seem to have never recovered. Leam Richardson taking the ship to the very bottom of the league two ocean.

Transfer Market

Accrington Stanley have been very active in the transfer market this season with an influx of arrivals and many departures from the Crown Ground.

Notable Incomings

  • Francis Jeffers        Unattached
  • Paul Rachubka       Leeds United
  • James Beattie         Unattached
  • Danny Schofield    Rotherham United
  • Lee Molyneux       Unattached
  • Aiden Chippendale Huddersfield Town
  • Aimen Lingazi       Unattached

Notable Outgoings

  • Ian Craney             Rochdale
  • Kevin Mcintyre      Rochdale
  • Danny Coid           Unknown
  • Sean Hessey          Barrow AFC

James Beattie appears to be a fairy good catch notching up six goals since his arrival and a good outlet to have up front. Who knows Francis Jeffers may become a bargain, often regarded as 'the forgotten man' in football, Jeffers may want to reignite his earlier talents on the League Two stage. Lee Molyneux formerly of my club Southampton seems to have performed well since joining Stanley on a free, he was fairly decent in League One for us and I can understand him doing well in League 2. Lingazi is another fairly recent arrival at the Crown Ground and I'd like to hear from Stanley fans how the boy from Blackburn is doing at Accrington.

The Key outgoing for Stanley this season was Ian Craney. Craney had three spells at Accrington and notched up a fair few goals from midfield over the years, so it must have been hard for Stanley fans to see him go to Rochdale. However, the move to Rochdale did not work out for Craney who only made six appearances before moving to AFC Telford.

Outlook

The outlook for Accrington Stanley does look bleak. Only recently news emerged that they could not pay their players on time due to a cash flow problem http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21776938

As a result of low attendances it will always be a struggle for Stanley to remain in the Football league but there is hope for them, if you look at clubs like Wigan and Blackpool, they have proved the doubters wrong in recent years reaching the top-flite. Also, Stanley are only two points from safety, this can easily be overturned, starting at home to Barnet today which I think they will win. I am so confident I have put a small bet on this outcome! All the best to Accrington Stanley and their supporters, I hope you avoid relegation!
